Chapter 8 - The Ambush in the Boardroom

The senior board members stared in bewildered silence at the thick stack of papers Julian had thrown onto the table. The legal corporate counsel, an elderly attorney named Arthur who had served Julian’s father for thirty years, hesitantly reached out and opened the cover folder.

“What is the meaning of this, Julian?” Arthur asked, his eyes scanning the bold medical seals on the first page.

“That, Arthur, is a certified genetic paternity report from a federal forensic laboratory,” Julian announced, his voice echoing off the glass walls of the boardroom so clearly that even the assistants lingering in the outer hallway could hear every word. “It proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am the biological father of twin daughters, Aurora and Stella Sterling, born to my late wife Clara three years ago.”

A gasp rippled around the table. Marcus turned a sickly shade of green, gripping the edge of his chair for support. “He’s lying! He forged those documents! Don't listen to him, Arthur!”

“Shut up, Marcus,” Julian snapped, his gaze locking onto his younger brother with terrifying intensity. “Before Arthur reads the second document in that folder, let me tell you what it is. It is a certified forensic audit of the Sterling Trust’s Cayman Island accounts, proving that my mother, Victoria Sterling, illegally funneled four million dollars to a private medical facility to imprison my pregnant wife and poison her with botanical toxins.”

Pandemonium broke out in the boardroom. Three board members stood up instantly, shouting questions, while Arthur’s hands began to shake visibly as he read the undeniable financial trail outlined in David Vance’s investigative report.

“This is slander!” Victoria screamed, her aristocratic composure completely shattering as she pointed a trembling finger at Julian. “You are trying to destroy this family over a dead woman from the slums! I did what was necessary to preserve our lineage! I protected the Sterling blood from corruption!”

“You murdered my wife!” Julian roared, slamming his fist onto the table with enough force to crack the polished veneer. The entire room fell into a dead, terrified silence. Julian pointed to the door, his eyes cold as ice. “You are stripped of your board seats, your executive privileges, and your company credit lines effective immediately. And Marcus?”

Marcus flinched as Julian turned his lethal gaze toward him.

“You’re fired,” Julian said coldly. “Now get out of my building before I let David’s tactical team handle your eviction personally.”
