Chapter 10 - Justice and Closure

The trial was the biggest media spectacle of the decade.
The evidence was absolutely overwhelming.
Between the secret recordings, Dr. Aris's confession, and the hidden camera footage from the hospital, the defense had no case.
David was sentenced to consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole.
Chloe, his mistress and accomplice, received forty years for conspiracy and money laundering.
When the judge read the verdict, David finally looked like the small, pathetic man he truly was.
Eleanor sat in the front row of the courtroom, wearing a stunning red dress, entirely unbothered by his glare.
She walked out of the courthouse and into the bright afternoon sun, finally free.
Six months later, Eleanor was back in her mansion, fully recovered and healthier than ever.
She had completely restructured her massive company, firing anyone who had been loyal to David.
But the biggest change was right there in her own home.
Maria no longer wore a bright orange maid's uniform.
Instead, she sat across from Eleanor at the massive mahogany dining table, wearing a tailored business suit.
Eleanor had paid for Maria to complete her private investigator licensing in the state.
More than that, Eleanor had officially named Maria the head of corporate security for her entire enterprise.
"The background checks on the new board members are complete, Eleanor," Maria said, sliding a thick file across the table.
"Excellent work, Maria," Eleanor smiled, taking a sip of fresh coffee.
They had been through hell together, surviving a wooden coffin and a web of deadly lies.
They weren't just employer and employee anymore.
May you like
They were a family forged in fire, bound by trust, and entirely unbreakable.
And somewhere in a dark, cold cell, David would spend the rest of his miserable life remembering the sound of a maid swinging an axe.
