Chapter 4 - The Corporate Purge

Julian was still the Vice President of Vance-Hayes Innovations. He thought he could use his corporate position to salvage his wealth and mount a legal defense.

“She has no corporate experience!” Julian was shouting as I opened the double doors.
“I don't need corporate experience to recognize a parasite,” I announced, walking to the head of the table. I dropped a massive stack of financial audits onto the mahogany surface.
“Julian Vance has spent the last two years embezzling company funds through shell vendors,” I told the board, projecting the documents onto the main screen. “He used corporate accounts to purchase a yacht, diamond necklaces, and a condo in Vivienne’s name.”
Julian went pale. “Those are lies! Forgeries!”
“They are bank-certified,” Mr. Thorne said, stepping into the room behind me.
