Chapter 7 - The Interrogation Room

Julian sat arrogantly in the metal chair of the county jail interrogation room.
He smirked as Agent Harrison walked in and dropped a thick file on the table.
"My lawyers will have me out of here in an hour," Julian sneered.
"My wife is a hysterical liar, and you feds are wasting your time."
Harrison didn't say a word.
He simply opened the file and slid an 8x10 glossy photograph across the table.
It was a still frame from the video, showing Eleanor's hands violently shoving Victoria.
Julian’s arrogant smirk instantly melted off his face.
He stared at the photo, his breathing turning ragged and shallow.
"We have the video, Julian," Harrison said smoothly.
"We have the financial records, the emails, and the cover-up files."
Harrison leaned over the table, invading Julian's space.
"Your brother is being arrested right now at his office."
"Your mother is being tracked as we speak."
"The first one to cooperate gets a plea deal, and the rest get life without parole."
Julian began to tremble, his tough-guy facade crumbling into pathetic pieces.
He was a spoiled rich kid who had never faced a single consequence in his life.
Faced with the reality of a concrete cell, his loyalty vanished completely.
"It was my mother," Julian choked out, tears streaming down his face.
"She planned the whole thing to protect the family money."
"I’ll tell you everything, just please don't let them put me in maximum security!"

Harrison smiled grimly and pressed the record button on the camera.
"Start talking, Julian."
