Chapter 6 - The Federal Play

Agent Harrison sat across from me in a dimly lit diner outside the city limits.

He was a seasoned veteran who specialized in prosecuting organized white-collar crime.

I slid my laptop across the table and hit play on the dock video.

The agent watched in dead silence as Eleanor pushed Victoria into the water.

When the video finished, he slowly closed the laptop.

"We have suspected the Sterlings of charity fraud for five years," Harrison said quietly.

"But we never had the evidence, and we certainly didn't know about a murder."

He looked at me with deep respect.

"This is the smoking gun that will bring their entire empire to the ground."

I handed him the original micro-SD card in an evidence bag.

"Clara is willing to testify about where she found it," I told him.

"But we need protection, and we need Julian locked away with no bail."

Agent Harrison nodded firmly.

"Julian’s assault charge already violates his probation from a previous sealed record," Harrison revealed.

"We are going to move fast, before they have a chance to destroy any more evidence."

He stood up and shook my hand.

"Go home, lock your doors, and wait for my call."

I drove back to my townhouse feeling a massive weight lift from my shoulders.

The predator was about to become the prey.
