Chapter 10 - A Beautiful Aftermath

It has been exactly two years since the Sterling family was locked in cages.

I never gave up my Santa Monica townhouse.

In fact, I completely remodeled the dining room where the assault happened, erasing every trace of Julian.

The court granted me a massive restitution payout from the seized Sterling assets.

I am now richer than Julian ever was.

Clara finalized her divorce from Marcus and moved to a beautiful house by the beach.

She started a non-profit foundation in Victoria’s name, helping victims of domestic abuse escape powerful families.

We have lunch together every single Sunday.

Sometimes, I sit on my balcony, watching the sunset over the Pacific Ocean.

I think about that fateful dinner in Lake Tahoe.

They thought I was weak.

They thought my silence could be bought with threats and a smashed plate.

They thought they were the predators.

But they forgot one very important rule of survival.

You should never corner a woman who has absolutely nothing to lose and everything to protect.

My home is still mine.

May you like

My life is still mine.

And the Sterling family name is nothing but a cautionary tale buried in the dirt.
