Chapter 6 - The Meltdown
When we finally opened the doors to leave the private boardroom, Justin and Vanessa were still anxiously waiting in the hallway.
Justin's face was a terrible mask of pure panic, realizing that he had completely lost control of the narrative.
"Richard, whatever she just told you is the hysterical rambling of a bitter, jealous wife," Justin lied desperately.
Richard Vance stepped past me, his eyes blazing with a cold, terrifying corporate wrath.
"You are fired, Justin, effective immediately, with cause and zero severance," Richard announced loudly.
The few remaining guests in the nearby hallway turned their heads, completely shocked by the sudden, brutal termination.
Justin physically staggered backward, as if he had been violently punched directly in the chest.
"Richard, please, you can't do this, I am your top executive!" Justin pleaded pathetically.
"I have already called the authorities, and my legal team will be filing a massive civil suit for the embezzled millions," Richard countered coldly.
Vanessa, realizing the incredibly lucrative scheme was completely destroyed, immediately began backpedaling.
"Mr. Vance, I had absolutely no idea what Justin was doing with those contracts," she lied, her voice shaking with fake innocence.
"He completely manipulated me and my PR firm!"
Justin turned to his beloved mistress in absolute shock, utterly betrayed by how quickly she had thrown him under the bus.
"Are you insane, Vanessa?" Justin screamed. "You set up the dummy accounts!"
"Don't yell at me, I am pregnant with your child!" she shrieked back, playing her ultimate victim card.
I stepped forward, the emerald gown sweeping across the carpet, and handed Justin a single piece of paper.
It was the medical analysis Nathan had meticulously typed up regarding her fake ultrasound images.
"She isn't pregnant, Justin," I said clearly, watching his entire world crumble into absolute dust.
"She bought fake ultrasound pictures online to keep you firmly on the hook until she could steal the offshore money."
Justin stared at the medical report, his eyes scanning the absolute proof of her massive deception.
He looked at Vanessa's perfectly flat stomach, realizing he had destroyed his real family for an absolute sociopath.
