Chapter 5 - The Desperate Invasion

That evening, the heavy iron gates of Marcus’s estate buzzed frantically.

The security guard called the main house to inform Marcus that his parents had arrived and were demanding entry.

"Do not open the gates under any circumstances," Marcus instructed the guard.

He walked out onto the front porch, watching the chaotic scene unfold at the end of his long driveway.

Richard was screaming at the intercom, his face purple with rage, while Margaret pounded her fists against the iron bars.

News vans were already starting to park on the street behind them, their cameras pointed directly at the disgraced couple.

Marcus walked slowly down the driveway, stopping a safe distance away from the locked gates.

"Let us in right now, you ungrateful brat!" Richard roared, shaking the metal bars.

"The country club revoked our membership because of that wretched video, and the bank is threatening to foreclose on the house!"

"It sounds like you need to get a job, Richard," Marcus replied calmly, crossing his arms over his chest.

Margaret burst into hysterical tears, pressing her face against the cold iron.

"Please, Marcus, we are your parents, you cannot let us be publicly humiliated like this," she begged.

"You publicly humiliated my motherless children for your own sick entertainment," Marcus reminded her sharply.

Camera flashes went off from the street as reporters captured the pathetic downfall of the local socialites.

"If you ever come near my property or my children again, I will have you arrested for trespassing," Marcus warned.

He turned his back on their pathetic screaming and walked up the driveway, feeling lighter than he had in years.
