Chapter 10 - The Unbreakable Empire

Six months had passed since the night Julian tried to serve Clara a fatal dinner.

Inside the sprawling penthouse office of Sterling Innovations, Clara sat behind an enormous mahogany desk.

She was officially the CEO, having stepped out of her mother’s shadow to lead the company into a new era of unprecedented success.

Her new wheelchair was a marvel of modern engineering, allowing her to stand upright when she needed to command a room.

Victoria sat on the plush leather sofa across from her, sipping a cup of expensive Darjeeling tea.

The television on the wall was muted, but the news ticker at the bottom displayed a breaking update.

"FORMER TECH MOGUL JULIAN STERLING SENTENCED TO 45 YEARS IN MAXIMUM SECURITY PRISON."

Clara glanced at the screen, feeling a deep, profound sense of closure wash over her soul.

“The warden sent a lovely thank-you note for the foundation's recent donation to their facility,” Victoria noted with a wicked smirk.

“I imagine Julian is finding the cafeteria food somewhat lacking in macadamia oil.”

Clara laughed, a bright, genuine sound that filled the massive office with warmth.

They had not just survived the ultimate betrayal; they had ruthlessly conquered it and emerged stronger than ever.

The Sterling women had proven that while kindness could be mistaken for weakness, their vengeance was absolute.

Clara looked out the floor-to-ceiling windows at the sprawling city skyline, knowing she owned it all.
