Chapter 3 - THE BOARDROOM AMBUSH

The emergency shareholder meeting was officially scheduled for 9:00 AM sharp at the towering glass corporate headquarters.

I confidently walked through the massive revolving doors at 8:55 AM, flanked by four highly paid, heavily armed private security contractors.

I intentionally wore a sharp, crimson red designer suit—a bold color that screamed absolute power, not submissive mourning.

The front desk receptionist loudly gasped when she saw me, frantically fumbling for her phone to warn the executives.

I didn't stop for a single second, marching straight toward the exclusive executive boardroom on the fiftieth floor.

I pushed the heavy, carved oak doors open with enough physical force to completely shatter the quiet, tense atmosphere in the room.

Arthur was standing arrogantly at the head of the massive mahogany table, pointing a laser at a complex PowerPoint presentation.

Silas was sitting comfortably to his right, looking incredibly smug and relaxed behind his expensive designer sunglasses.

Every single wealthy board member turned to look at me in sheer, unadulterated shock.

“Clara,” Arthur stammered, his perfectly styled silver hair suddenly looking less distinguished and much more pathetic.

“You are supposed to be at the estate, heavily medicated, grieving, and resting in bed.”

I walked confidently to the opposite end of the long table and slammed Julian’s heavy leather binder down onto the polished wood.

“I am completely done resting, Arthur.”

“What is the exact meaning of this ridiculous interruption?” Silas demanded, standing up abruptly and slamming his hands on the table.

“The meaning is that this entire fraudulent corporate acquisition is hereby permanently canceled,” I announced loudly to the silent room.

Arthur’s face instantly turned the sickly color of crushed chalk.

“You absolutely do not have the legal authority to cancel a board-approved, multi-million-dollar merger, Clara.”

I smiled coldly, opening the thick binder to the secret contingency clause bearing Julian’s legally verified, notarized signature.

“Actually, as of exactly midnight last night, I personally hold sixty percent of the primary voting shares.”

“Julian legally transferred his entire controlling equity directly to me in the specific event of his untimely, suspicious death.”

The older board members began whispering frantically among themselves, completely horrified by the sudden shift in power.

Silas desperately checked his encrypted cell phone, his handsome face contorting into a twisted mask of absolute, undeniable panic.

“Our corporate accounts are completely frozen,” Silas hissed viciously at Arthur, completely abandoning all professional boardroom decorum.

“You cannot possibly do this to your own family, Clara!” Arthur yelled, slamming his fist violently on the table.

“You permanently ceased to be my family the exact moment you dumped Julian’s lifeless body in a hospital parking lot.”

I turned to the highly confused, wealthy board members, my voice carrying the heavy, undeniable weight of a judge delivering a death sentence.

“Gentlemen, this emergency meeting is officially adjourned, and these two pathetic men are no longer employees of this prestigious company.”
