Chapter 6 - The Confrontation

Dominic read the pages, his face turning an alarming shade of pale. The anger radiating off him was palpable. He didn't yell; he went quiet, which was always the precursor to violence.

"Where did you get this?"

"Your grandfather gave it to me."

Dominic looked at the security cameras in the corner of the room, then at Maya. He realized the game had changed. He had been so focused on external threats that he hadn't seen the viper in his own bed.

He didn't call the police. That wasn't how the Calderones handled things. He called his head of security. "Clear the house," he ordered. "Except for Maya and my grandfather."
