Evelyn knew she was losing her grip. She began a campaign of subtle sabotage. She planted a ledger in Maya’s room, faking transaction numbers that pointed toward an internal leak within the Calderone shipping business.
Maya found the ledger while cleaning. She recognized the handwriting—it was a forgery, but a good one. She knew that if she brought this to Dominic, he might believe it, given how paranoid the business made him.
She didn't run to Dominic. She went to Vincent.
