Chapter 10 - Epilogue
One year later.
The warm summer breeze blew across the sprawling lawn of our new family estate.
I stood on the patio, holding a cold beer, watching the chaos unfold in the grass.
The triplets, now wild and unstoppable two-year-olds, were chasing a golden retriever puppy.
Their laughter filled the air, the sweetest sound I had ever heard.
Elena walked up behind me, wrapping her arms around my neck and resting her head on my back.
“They are going to exhaust that poor dog,” she laughed.
I turned around and pulled her close, kissing the top of her head.
“They get their endless energy from you,” I teased.
She smiled, looking up at me with eyes full of absolute love and trust.
The pain of the past was still a scar, but it no longer defined us.
We had rebuilt our marriage on a foundation of unshakeable honesty and devotion.
“I love you, Julian,” she whispered, standing on her tiptoes to kiss me.
“I love you more, Elena,” I replied, holding her tightly against my chest.
I looked out at my three beautiful boys, playing safely in the sunshine.
