Chapter 15 - The Epilogue

Three years later.

The summer sun beat down on the lush green lawns of the Silas estate.

Roman sat on the porch, a glass of iced tea in his hand.

He wore a simple white linen shirt, a stark contrast to his old tailored black suits.

He watched as Clara ran across the grass, laughing loudly.

Chasing her was a rambunctious three-year-old boy with wild dark hair.

"I am going to catch you, Mommy!" Leo shrieked, his little legs pumping furiously.

Roman smiled, taking a sip of his drink.

He had kept his promise.

He had systematically dismantled his criminal network.

He had invested his remaining wealth in legitimate real estate and shipping companies.

There were still whispers in the city about the terrifying Roman Silas.

But those whispers belonged to ghosts.

The man he used to be was dead.

Leo finally tackled Clara, and they both tumbled into the soft grass, giggling uncontrollably.

Roman set his glass down and walked down the porch steps.

He crossed the lawn and scooped his son up into his arms, tossing him high into the air.

Leo squealed with delight, reaching out for his father.

Roman caught him, pulling him tight against his chest.

He looked down at Clara, who was smiling up at him with pure, unadulterated love.

There were no more shadows in her eyes.

There was no more fear.

Roman offered her his hand, pulling her up from the grass.

He kissed her softly, tasting the sunshine on her skin.

He had lost an empire.

But as he held his wife and son, he knew he had gained the entire world.
