Chapter 8 - The Media Circus

The news of a high-profile investment banker being arrested for defrauding millions broke the local news. But it became a national sensation when an anonymous source (my brilliant PR team) leaked the hospital security footage to the press.

The video had no audio, but the visual was damning enough. It showed Julian strutting into the maternity ward with his mistress, throwing papers at a visibly exhausted, bedridden woman, and laughing cruelly before walking out.

The internet exploded. Julian was branded "The Worst Husband in America." Talk shows dedicated entire segments to analyzing his narcissism. Seraphina was doxxed, her social media flooded with so much vitriol she was forced to delete her accounts and move out of state in absolute disgrace.

Every time Julian sat in the prison common room, the inmates saw his face on the news. He became a pariah even among criminals.

I, on the other hand, was shielded by my family’s wealth. I rebranded myself, launching a philanthropic foundation dedicated to helping single mothers navigate high-conflict divorces. I was thriving, surrounded by love, purpose, and unimaginable power.
