Chapter 7 - The Legal Strike

The very next morning, Elena and Beatrice left the girls with a trusted local teacher.

They drove three hours out of the corrupted valley to the state capital.

Elena carried a heavy duffel bag containing the gold bars and the horrific evidence.

They walked directly into the prestigious offices of a ruthless, high-profile federal prosecutor.

The receptionist tried to turn them away, but Elena dropped a solid gold bar onto the polished desk.

Within five minutes, they were sitting across from Marcus Thorne, a lawyer known for destroying corrupt billionaires.

Marcus reviewed the water contamination reports, the financial ledgers, and Arthur's final letter.

"This is absolutely explosive," Marcus said, removing his glasses and rubbing his temples.

"Silas has effectively bribed every judge and sheriff in your entire county for a decade."

"But this? This is federal racketeering, domestic terrorism, and first-degree murder."

Elena leaned forward, her eyes burning with an unstoppable, fierce determination.

"I want him locked in a cage for the rest of his pathetic life," Elena demanded.

"And I want the corrupt mother-in-law who helped fund his operations exposed."

Marcus smiled, a sharp, dangerous grin that promised absolute legal warfare.

"We cannot just arrest him quietly, or his network will hide his assets," Marcus explained.

"We need to trap him in public, where all his bought-and-paid-for politicians are present."

"He is hosting a mandatory town hall meeting tonight to force the final farm buyouts."

Elena nodded, her hands gripping the edge of the large mahogany desk.

"Then we will bring the federal government directly to his town hall," Elena said.

The ultimate trap was officially set.
