Chapter 8 - The Final Nail in the Coffin

Unfortunately for Beatrice, the private investigator she hired was not very loyal.
When he realized Beatrice was out of money, he immediately contacted Eleanor’s legal team to sell them the information about the investigation.
Eleanor Harrington did not take kindly to someone stalking the mother of her great-grandchild.
The very next morning, Beatrice awoke to the sound of aggressive knocking on the heavy oak front doors of the estate.
She opened the door in her silk bathrobe, expecting the moving company she had hired on credit.
Instead, a stone-faced process server handed her a thick manila folder.
“You have been served, ma'am,” the man said mechanically before turning and walking away.
Beatrice tore open the envelope, her hands shaking violently as she read the legal jargon.
It was a permanent restraining order filed by Eleanor’s ruthless team of corporate lawyers.
Beatrice was legally forbidden from contacting Clara, David, or Lily ever again.
But that was not the worst part of the document.
Attached to the back was a formal notice from the family trust’s board of directors.
Because Beatrice had used family funds to hire a private investigator against another family member, she was found in violation of the morality clause.
She was permanently exiled from the Harrington family trust.
There would be no future inheritance, no secret bailouts, and no more chances.
Beatrice collapsed onto the marble floor of the foyer, weeping hysterically as the reality of her new life set in.
