Chapter 9 - The Resurrection Trap
Richard frowned. “What are you talking about?”
From the shadows of the adjoining dressing room, the lead Detective from the hospital stepped out, his service weapon drawn and pointed directly at Richard's head.
“Drop the weapon, Mr. Vance,” the Detective ordered.
Richard froze.
Elena stepped out from behind the detective, holding up a smartphone. “I’ve been livestreaming this entire conversation to the Chief of Police, Mr. Vance. Everything you just said. The poison, the gun, the confession.”
Richard’s hands shook. He looked at Clara, his eyes wide with the realization that he had been completely outplayed. The woman he had tried to bury had dug a grave specifically for him.
The gun slipped from his fingers, clattering onto the hardwood floor.

The Detective slammed Richard against the wall, slapping cold steel handcuffs around his wrists. “Richard Vance, you are under arrest for the attempted murder of Clara Vance and Vivian Vance.”
“Enjoy the dark, Richard,” Clara whispered as they dragged him out of the room.
