Chapter 7 - The Confession

Vanessa spat blood onto the wooden floorboards, laughing weakly.

"You really think Nora wants to see you?" she sneered.

"She grew up in a mansion in Switzerland, surrounded by servants."

"Your parents did her a favor."

I pressed my forearm against her throat, cutting off her air just enough to make her panic.

"Give me an address, Vanessa, or I swear I will throw you out of that attic window."

She gagged, her eyes widening in genuine fear as she realized I wasn't bluffing.

"Geneva!" she choked out.

"She lives in Geneva! Her name is Elara Vance now."

I let go of her throat, my mind racing.

Sirens suddenly filled the night air again.

Marcus hadn't just stayed at the hospital; he had followed my location tracker and called the FBI.

Red and blue lights flooded the windows of the attic.

"It's over, Vanessa," I said, stepping away from her.

"The police are here, and I have the filing cabinet."

Vanessa looked at the flashing lights, her arrogant facade finally crumbling into pathetic terror.

Officers swarmed into the house, their heavy boots echoing up the stairs.

When they breached the attic, they arrested Vanessa and confiscated every single folder.

The nightmare was finally coming to an end.
