Chapter 7 - Securing the Future

Despite the hatred I felt for Martín and Clara, I could not stop thinking about my innocent grandchildren.

The twins were only three years old, entirely blameless in this toxic war of greed and lies.

I knew Clara’s mother was a bitter, impoverished woman who would not be able to provide for them.

And with both parents facing potential jail time, the children’s future was in serious jeopardy.

I sat down with Arthur again to craft a bulletproof plan to protect the babies.

"I want to set up an irrevocable educational and living trust for the twins," I instructed him.

"However, I want the terms to be brutally strict."

Arthur nodded, his pen flying across his legal pad as I outlined my demands.

"Neither Martín nor Clara will ever have access to a single penny of this money," I stated clearly.

"The funds will be managed by a neutral third-party trustee."

"It will pay directly for their private school, their medical needs, and eventually, their college tuition."

"If either parent attempts to contest the trust, they will trigger a clause that donates the entire sum to charity."

Arthur smiled, deeply impressed by the legal trap I had designed.

"It is a brilliant strategy to ensure the children are safe while completely cutting out the parents," he agreed.

I signed the massive stack of paperwork, moving a significant portion of Robert’s recovered money into the untouchable fund.

I was no longer the naive grandmother desperate for love and approval.

I was a fierce protector, ensuring my legacy would help the innocent and punish the guilty.

The twins would always know their grandmother loved them, even if I refused to let their parents use them as pawns ever again.
