Chapter 10 - The Smear Campaign

Despite the devastating courtroom exposure of the nursery camera video, Julian’s mother, Eleanor Montgomery, refused to accept the reality of her family's complete social and legal ruin. Operating from her luxury suburban condominium—and terrified that Elena’s pending civil lawsuits would soon seize her own personal bank accounts—Eleanor launched a desperate, vicious smear campaign across local social media networks and high-society gossip channels over the weekend.

Utilizing a network of sympathetic country club friends and paid online public relations trolls, Eleanor published a series of lengthy, hysterical posts on community forums and Facebook groups. She claimed that the video played in court had been "deceptively edited and spliced by powerful corporate lawyers" to frame her innocent son.

In her manufactured narrative, Eleanor painted Clara as a "historically unstable, manipulative woman who had been planning a fraudulent divorce for months," claiming that Clara had intentionally staged the fall against the table after a minor verbal disagreement to steal Julian’s real estate business and kidnap his children. She even dared to attack seven-year-old Noah, claiming that I had "brainwashed and coached the boy to lie to police officers to destroy his own father."

When Elena showed me the posts on her tablet while we were having morning coffee at my estate on Sunday, my patience with the Montgomery family's lies permanently expired.

"She wants to play in the dirt of public opinion?" I said, setting my coffee cup down with a cold, definitive click. "Then let’s bury her in it. Release the 911 audio."

With my authorization, and confirming through ADA Thorne that releasing public emergency dispatch records did not violate any pre-trial gag orders, Elena’s media team executed an immediate, overwhelming digital counterstroke.

We didn't write a long, defensive emotional essay. We simply released a two-minute audiovisual presentation directly to every major news network, digital investigative platform, and social media channel in the state.

The video opened with a high-resolution, side-by-side display of Eleanor’s defamatory social media posts accusing Clara of staging the assault and calling Noah a coached liar. Then, the screen faded to black, displaying a single white timestamp: SUNDAY, JULY 26 - 8:16 PM. OFFICIAL 911 EMERGENCY DISPATCH AUDIO.

The heartbreaking, terrified voice of seven-year-old Noah piped through the speakers of millions of smartphones and computers across the country:

"911, what is your emergency?" "Please! Somebody help my mommy! Daddy shoved her tummy against the table and ran away! There’s so much blood on the floor! Please come save my mommy and my baby brother! I'm scared!"

Directly following the 911 call, we appended the certified medical summary from St. Jude’s Trauma Center detailing the Grade 3 placental abruption and emergency neonatal resuscitation, alongside the unedited, full-length nursery camera video of Julian executing the shove.

The public reaction was instantaneous, volcanic, and completely destructive to the Montgomery name. Within two hours of our broadcast, the hashtag #JusticeForClaraAndNoah was trending number one nationwide. The public outrage against Eleanor and Julian was so intense that local police had to set up a barricade outside Eleanor’s condominium building to protect her from crowds of angry neighbors and protestors shouting outside her windows.

By Sunday evening, every country club Eleanor belonged to had formally revoked her membership, her remaining friends had blocked her numbers, and the online PR firm she had hired dumped her as a client and issued a public apology. Eleanor deleted all her social media accounts in absolute, terrified humiliation, finally realizing that no amount of aristocratic spinning could ever wash the blood off her family's hands.
