Chapter 8 - The Betrayal Within

With Charles facing up to thirty years in federal prison, the Sterling family loyalty evaporated instantly.

Julian, realizing that he was listed as a co-signer on several of the fraudulent shell companies, panicked. Desperate to avoid a prison sentence, he did exactly what a narcissist does when backed into a corner: he turned on his own blood.

Julian walked into the US Attorney’s office with a lawyer paid for by his last remaining credit card.

He cut a deal.

In exchange for full immunity, Julian provided the feds with the passwords to Charles’s encrypted offshore accounts, detailing exactly how his parents had hidden money in the Caymans. He threw his father under the bus without a second thought.
