Brenda did not give up after the hospital incident.
That evening, she posted a massive, tearful rant on Facebook, tagging all of our mutual friends and family.
She claimed I was a spoiled, vindictive heiress who had suffered postpartum depression and kicked her innocent son to the curb.
The post started gaining traction, with people leaving sympathetic comments for Ryan.
My phone began blowing up with messages from confused friends asking what was going on.
I refused to let them control the narrative.
I opened my laptop, took a deep breath, and wrote my own post.
I didn't use emotional language or name-calling.
I simply stated the facts.
I posted the timestamped photo of Ryan at the airport bar in Cancún, holding a margarita.
I posted the date and time of Leo's emergency premature birth.
"My husband left me bleeding in a hospital bed, three hours after our premature son was born, because he didn't want to waste a vacation his mother paid for," I wrote.
I hit publish, and then I turned my phone off.
When I checked it the next morning, the internet had done its job.
The backlash against Ryan and Brenda was swift and absolutely merciless.
Mutual friends publicly denounced them, and former colleagues shared stories of Ryan's lazy behavior at the office.
Brenda had to delete her entire social media profile by noon due to the flood of angry messages.
