Chapter 4 - The Army of Suits
While Julian was desperately fighting with an elevator, I was comfortably sitting inside my father’s massive, heavily secured office.
My father, Arthur Sterling, sat perfectly straight behind his imposing mahogany desk.
His sharp, predatory eyes briefly scanned the thick, highly complex legal documents spread out before him.
"He has heavily embezzled nearly four million dollars from the operational budget over the last three years," my father stated coldly.
"He stupidly thought he was brilliantly hiding it in offshore accounts, but my forensic accountants tracked every single missing penny."
I calmly sipped my hot, black tea, feeling absolutely no sympathy for the deceitful man I once loved.
"So, he is not just completely broke," I said quietly.
"He is actually going to federal prison."
My father offered a terrifying, ruthless smile that perfectly mirrored my own dark satisfaction.
"He completely humiliated a Sterling in public, my dear daughter."
"Federal prison is merely the incredibly gentle beginning of his permanent punishment."
My father sharply pressed a silver button on his sleek desk, immediately summoning his ruthless head of elite corporate security.
"It is exactly three in the morning," my father announced powerfully.
"Deploy the executive legal team to the resort."
"I want that pathetic, arrogant parasite completely removed from my property before the morning shift arrives."
I slowly stood up, smoothing down the expensive fabric of my elegant, dry replacement dress.
"I am going with them, Dad," I stated firmly, my voice entirely steady.
"I want to personally look directly into his lying eyes when he finally realizes he is absolutely nothing."
My father nodded in deep respect, clearly proud of the terrifyingly strong woman I had suddenly become.
