Chapter 4 - The Gambling Debt

My next crucial, highly important target was my golden brother, Jason, the incredibly arrogant, violently abusive sociopath who genuinely thought he was entirely untouchable.

I safely parked my car a few dark blocks away from his incredibly expensive, luxury downtown loft, aggressively pulling my hood up to completely hide my bruised face.

I knew for an absolute fact that Jason regularly attended highly illegal, incredibly high-stakes poker games in the sketchy, dangerous basement of a nearby abandoned warehouse.

He had drunkenly, stupidly bragged about it to me several months ago, completely unaware that I mentally logged every single pathetic detail of his chaotic life.

I didn't need to physically confront him today; I just needed to anonymously, aggressively contact the highly dangerous men he currently owed massive amounts of money to.

I walked directly into a cheap, deeply dusty internet cafe on the corner and paid for an hour of computer time entirely in completely untraceable cash.

I quickly set up a temporary, highly encrypted email address, making absolutely sure that my digital footprint was completely invisible and entirely untraceable.

I aggressively drafted a highly detailed, completely anonymous message directed entirely to the ruthless loan shark that Jason had foolishly borrowed seventy thousand dollars from.

I politely informed the incredibly dangerous criminal that Jason had just magically acquired a massive, multi-million dollar property deed completely in his own name.

I carefully attached a high-resolution, perfectly scanned copy of the public property transfer records directly to the anonymous email as absolute, undeniable proof.

I also specifically included the exact, highly secure access codes to Jason's luxury apartment building, just to make their inevitable, violent visit a little easier.

The violent, ruthless men he owed money to were absolutely not the kind of forgiving people who would patiently wait for a polite repayment plan.

Once they finally realized he had massive, liquid assets hidden away, they would aggressively tear his perfect, incredibly arrogant life completely apart.

I hit the send button with a deep, profound sense of incredibly dark satisfaction, watching the digital message completely fly away into cyberspace.

Jason had violently shattered my jaw simply because he genuinely believed I was utterly powerless to ever fight back against his constant cruelty.

He was about to learn a very painful, absolutely terrifying lesson about what exactly happens when you corner a brilliant woman who has absolutely nothing left to lose.

I completely closed the browser, absolutely wiped the computer's temporary search history, and calmly walked back out onto the busy, noisy city streets.

My phone suddenly began buzzing frantically in my deep coat pocket, the bright screen illuminating brightly with my mother's familiar, highly demanding contact name.

She was aggressively calling me over and over again, likely incredibly furious that her precious son was currently nursing a severely burning face from my pepper spray.

I simply stared at the ringing phone, feeling absolutely no guilt, absolutely no fear, and no lingering attachment to the toxic woman who birthed me.

I decisively hit the block button, permanently cutting Margaret completely out of my personal life forever with one simple, incredibly satisfying click.
