Chapter 4 - The Iron Defense Crumbles

The media storm surrounding Cordelia Vance’s sudden arrest was absolutely explosive.

Tabloids and news networks completely lost their minds over the scandalous story of the billionaire's evil housekeeper.

Julian sat at his massive glass desk, staring coldly at the high-profile defense attorney sitting across from him.

Cordelia had managed to hire Richard Sterling, a ruthless lawyer famous for destroying the reputations of his opponents.

"My client plans to file a massive countersuit for defamation and wrongful termination," Sterling announced smugly.

"We will argue that she was simply following your incredibly strict, borderline abusive dietary guidelines for the children."

Julian did not even blink, his expression as hard and unyielding as solid granite.

"You are going to try and blame me for the rotten food in the cold storage?" Julian asked quietly.

"We will argue that you were an absent, neglectful father who forced the staff into impossible situations," Sterling countered smoothly.

Julian slowly opened the top drawer of his desk and pulled out a thick, heavy black folder.

He tossed it carelessly across the glass surface, letting it slide directly into Sterling's lap.

"What is this?" the arrogant lawyer asked, suddenly looking a bit unsure of himself.

"That is a heavily documented trail of every single penny your client stole from my household over the past four years," Julian explained.

"It includes her secret offshore accounts, her illegal kickbacks from vendors, and her extensive gambling debts."

Sterling opened the folder, his face growing paler with every single page he rapidly turned.

"I also have signed, sworn affidavits from twelve different suppliers admitting she forced them to fake invoices," Julian added mercilessly.

"If you attempt to smear my name or drag my daughters into a public circus, I will absolutely destroy you, Richard."

Julian leaned forward, his dark eyes radiating pure, unadulterated menace.

"I will bury her under so many federal fraud charges that she will never see the sky again."

The lawyer closed the heavy folder, visibly swallowing hard as his confident facade completely shattered.

"I strongly advise you to tell your client to take whatever plea deal the district attorney offers," Julian commanded.

Sterling quickly stood up, grabbing his expensive briefcase with a slightly trembling hand.

Without saying another word, the defeated lawyer practically ran out of the massive office.

Julian leaned back in his leather chair, feeling a dark, satisfying sense of total victory.

He had completely neutralized the threat, but his most important work was still waiting for him down the hall.
