Chapter 10 - The Banquet of Kings

The wedding was the largest, most extravagant event the city had seen in decades.

It was not held in a dark, secret location, but in the grand ballroom of Vincent’s most famous hotel.

Politicians, legitimate business partners, and former rivals all gathered to pay their respects.

They watched in awe as the ruthless mafia boss looked at his beautiful bride with absolute devotion.

Carmen wore a stunning white gown, holding a bouquet of rare orchids.

Isabella walked proudly down the aisle as the flower girl, throwing rose petals with a giant smile on her face.

When they exchanged their vows, there was not a single dry eye in the room.

Vincent promised to shield her from the world, and Carmen promised to be his guiding light.

At the grand reception, the tables groaned under the weight of incredible, decadent food.

Vincent sat at the head table, watching his new daughter run over to the dessert station.

She grabbed two large chocolate pastries, her eyes completely wide with excitement.

He remembered the night he found her in his pantry, clutching a piece of stale bread.

He remembered the sheer terror in her voice when she begged him not to fire her mother.

Those dark days were completely gone, buried under the weight of his love and protection.

Giuseppe, the head chef, walked up to the head table holding a small, covered silver platter.

"For you, Boss," Giuseppe smiled warmly, lifting the silver lid.

On the platter sat a perfectly made, gourmet grilled cheese sandwich and a small bowl of tomato soup.

Vincent laughed out loud, a rich, booming sound that echoed across the massive ballroom.

He caught Carmen’s eye, and she smiled knowingly, understanding the private joke perfectly.

Vincent Torino had conquered the city, destroyed his enemies, and amassed a fortune.

But his greatest victory was the family sitting right beside him.

He picked up a piece of the grilled cheese, taking a completely satisfied bite.
