The pressure cooker finally exploded.
With their social standing ruined and the threat of federal fraud charges hanging over their heads, the loyalty between Chloe and Derek vanished.
We heard about it through Arthur. Derek went to the police and tried to cut a deal. He claimed the forged deed was entirely Chloe’s idea. He told the detectives that she had manipulated him into going along with it, playing the victim of a greedy wife.
When Chloe found out he had thrown her under the bus, she retaliated. She handed over Derek’s hidden hard drives to the SEC, exposing years of his illegal wire transfers and offshore accounts.
