Chapter 4 - The Traitor Within

With Chloe out on bail and banned from the company premises, Arthur grew desperate.

He requested a private meeting at the family estate. When I arrived, the grand mansion felt hollow. Arthur was drinking scotch by the fireplace, looking ten years older.

"Name your price, Elara," he slurred, waving his glass at me. "You want money? You want the CEO title? Take it. Just bury the investigation into the black market munitions."

"You sold weapons to the very insurgents we were fighting," I said, my voice dangerously low. "My men died because of your greed."

"It's just business!" Arthur yelled, slamming his glass down. "We provide the tools. We don't pull the trigger! Your grandfather built this company, and I won't let you tear it down because of some misplaced sense of righteous vengeance!"

"My grandfather built a legacy. You turned it into a slaughterhouse." I stepped closer, closing the distance. "I don't want your money, Arthur. I want you in a federal penitentiary."

He lunged at me, his face twisted in rage. But I was a trained combat veteran. I sidestepped his clumsy attack, caught his arm, and twisted it behind his back, slamming his face onto the polished oak desk.

"The audit is happening," I whispered in his ear as he groaned in pain. "And there is nowhere for you to hide."
