Chapter 6 - The Doctor's Confession

The sun had barely risen over the pine trees when Marcus arrived in an armored transport vehicle.

He dragged a terrified, disheveled man in a wrinkled designer suit into the cabin's living room.

Dr. Sterling fell to his knees, his arrogant demeanor completely shattered by the rough handling of Daniel’s security chief.

Daniel sat in a heavy armchair, looking down at the corrupt physician with eyes as cold as ice.

"Dr. Sterling," Daniel said smoothly, though the deadly undertone in his voice made the man flinch.

"I believe you are familiar with my wife, Emily."

Emily stepped out of the shadows, standing tall and confident beside her husband.

Sterling went pale, his eyes darting frantically toward the locked door.

"Mr. Whitmore, please, I had no choice!" the doctor babbled, sweat pouring down his forehead.

"Your mother threatened to destroy my medical license and ruin my practice if I didn't cooperate."

Daniel leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees.

"You falsified medical records, attempted kidnapping, and conspired to commit murder, Doctor," Daniel listed calmly.

"You are going to sit in front of a camera right now and confess every single detail of my mother's plot."

Marcus set up a high-definition video camera on a tripod, aiming the lens directly at the trembling doctor.

"If you cooperate, I will ensure you get a plea deal and federal protection," Daniel offered.

"If you don't, I will leave you in the woods and let my mother's assassins find you."

Faced with certain death or prison, Dr. Sterling chose the camera.

For the next hour, he spilled every dirty secret Victoria Whitmore had forced him to keep.

He detailed the forged signatures, the hired thugs, and the exact instructions to dispose of Emily and the unborn twins.

When the camera finally clicked off, Daniel held the memory card in his hand like a loaded weapon.

He looked at Marcus and gave a single, decisive nod.

"It's time to go home," Daniel said.
