Chapter 3 - The Interrogation Room

The atmosphere inside the police precinct was incredibly tense.

Detective Miller dropped a heavy stack of printed social media screenshots onto the metal table.

Beatrice sat across from him, looking utterly pathetic in a bright orange county jumpsuit.

"Your entire life is completely over, Beatrice," the detective stated in a flat, emotionless tone.

She buried her face in her trembling hands and began to weep hysterically.

"Victoria made me do it!" Beatrice suddenly screamed, pointing at the two-way mirror as if she could see through it.

"She told me that if Clara's baby disappeared, our father would leave the entire family trust to us!"

In the adjacent interrogation room, Victoria maintained a cold, arrogant silence.

Her high-priced corporate lawyer was frantically trying to negotiate a private bail hearing.

"My client is the victim of a clever, digitally altered video," the lawyer shamelessly lied to the commanding officer.

The police captain simply laughed in the lawyer's face.

"We have thirty-two different angles of the incident, all recorded by different witnesses."

Victoria's confident facade finally cracked just a fraction of an inch.

She realized that her family's vast fortune could not simply buy her way out of attempted murder.

"If my sister is blaming me, she is a delusional, jealous liar," Victoria hissed, tapping her manicured nails on the table.

Detective Miller walked into Victoria's room, holding a newly printed document.

"We just seized both of your cell phones, Victoria."

He leaned in close, his expression filled with absolute disgust.

"We found the text messages where you explicitly instructed Beatrice to 'get rid of the brat' during the party."

Victoria's face drained of all color, turning a sickly shade of white.
