Chapter 13 - The Judgment

Elena sobbed, mascara running down her face, ruining the flawless makeup she had spent hours perfecting. "Matteo, please! My father made me do it! The Falcones threatened my family!"

"Do not insult my intelligence by lying to me in a house of God," Matteo spat, his disgust palpable. He reached into his jacket and pulled out the black envelope, tossing it onto her lap. "I know everything. I know about Luca. I know about the accounts you drained. I know you sent men to kill a housekeeper and a four-year-old boy."

The crowd gasped. The mafia bosses sitting in the front rows, men who respected the old codes of honor, looked at Elena with absolute revulsion. In their world, you killed your enemies, but you did not touch women and children.

"You broke the code, Elena," Matteo announced loudly, ensuring every syndicate boss in the room heard him. "You plotted against your don, and you targeted innocents. You are stripped of your name, your wealth, and your protection."

"You're going to kill me," she whimpered, curling into a ball.

"Death is too easy for you," Matteo replied coldly. He looked at Rocco, who stepped forward with a pair of heavy zip ties. "Take her to the docks. Put her on a cargo ship heading to Siberia. No money, no phone, no identity. Let her see how long her beauty keeps her alive in a Russian work camp."

Elena screamed as Rocco dragged her down the blood-stained aisle, her pristine white dress dragging through the carnage.

Matteo turned to the terrified congregation. He adjusted his cuffs, perfectly composed. "I apologize for the interruption, ladies and gentlemen. The wedding is canceled. Enjoy the open bar."

He stepped off the altar and walked out a side door, leaving the ruins of the Falcone family behind him.
