Chapter 11 - The Healing Begins

The morning after Elena’s dramatic arrest, the atmosphere inside Vance Manor was unrecognizable. The suffocating cloud of tension, secrecy, and fear that had hung over the estate for three years had finally evaporated, replaced by the warm, golden sunlight of a crisp autumn morning filtering through the grand windows.
In the sunlit breakfast room, Leo sat at the head of the table, happily arranging a massive tower of pancakes while explaining his newest stop-motion movie idea to his father. For the first time since Sarah’s death, Julian was not reading financial reports on his tablet or rushing off to a conference call. He wore a simple grey sweater, his shoulders relaxed, listening to his son with genuine, undivided laughter.
Nora walked into the room carrying a fresh pot of coffee, wearing her familiar, comfortable jeans and a soft cardigan. She had insisted on returning her formal attire to the closet, content with her reality. But as she began to pour Julian’s coffee, his large hand reached out, gently covering hers and stopping her.
“Sit with us, Nora,” Julian said softly, his green eyes warm and inviting. “You’re not serving us anymore. You’re part of this family.”
Leo looked up, his eyes wide with hope. “Does that mean Nora doesn't have to live in the staff rooms anymore, Dad? Can she stay here forever?”
Nora’s cheeks flushed a delicate pink. She looked at Julian, her heart fluttering at the intensity of his gaze. “Leo, honey, I’m your nanny. It’s my job to take care of you.”
“No, Nora,” Julian corrected gently, his thumb tracing the back of her hand with a tenderness that sent a pleasant shiver down her spine. “I’m terminating your contract as a nanny today.”
Nora’s breath hitched, a sudden pang of panic striking her chest until she saw the profound love and respect shining in Julian’s face. He pulled a small, velvet box from his pocket and placed it on the table between them—not an intimidating, ostentatious jewel, but a delicate, beautiful sapphire band that matched the warmth of her eyes.
“I don’t want an employee, Nora,” Julian said, his voice raw with emotion as he looked at the woman who had saved his son, his company, and his soul. “I want a partner. I want a wife. And Leo wants a mother who loves him as fiercely as you do. Stay with us. Build a life with us. For good.”

Nora looked at the ring, then at Leo’s eager, smiling face, and finally into the steady, loving eyes of the billionaire who had learned what truly mattered. A brilliant, tearful smile broke across her face.
“Yes,” Nora whispered, squeezing Julian’s hand as Leo cheered and threw his arms around them both. “Yes, I’ll stay forever.”
