Chapter 7 - The Vulnerable Tycoon

Chloe pulled the soaking wet billionaire into her small, unheated apartment.

She handed him a towel, her hands shaking as she processed the impossible sight of the world's most feared man begging on her floor.

"You didn't trust me," she whispered, wrapping her arms around herself to ward off the cold.

Julian stood up, throwing the towel aside, and closed the distance between them.

"I have never trusted anyone in my entire life, Chloe," he confessed, his voice thick with raw emotion.

"My father taught me that love was a weakness to be exploited by enemies."

He reached out, gently cupping her face with his large hands.

"But these past few days without you have been a living hell."

Chloe looked up, seeing the genuine pain and vulnerability in his dark eyes.

She slowly reached up and placed her hands over his, leaning into his warm touch.

Julian didn't hesitate any longer.

He leaned down and captured her lips in a deep, desperate kiss that tasted like rain and apologies.

Chloe melted against him, all her previous anger completely evaporating in the heat of his embrace.

It was no longer a fake contract or a business arrangement.
