The sleek black SUV sped through the city streets, entirely bypassing traffic with a police escort Julian had somehow arranged in seconds.
Chloe sat in the plush leather seat, clutching her canvas bag, completely overwhelmed by the surreal situation.
Julian sat beside her, typing furiously on his tablet, emanating a quiet but overwhelming power.
When they arrived at the state hospital, Chloe rushed inside, only to be stopped by the grim-faced head surgeon.
"Miss Davis, your mother's condition has worsened, and the experimental procedure requires an upfront payment of five hundred thousand dollars," the doctor explained apologetically.
Chloe felt the floor drop beneath her feet.
Tears welled in her eyes as the devastating reality crushed her fragile hope.
She had maxed out every credit card just to afford the plane ticket here.
Suddenly, a massive, comforting presence stepped up right behind her.
"Charge it to my private account, and I want the best surgical team in the country flown in immediately," Julian stated coldly to the doctor.
The surgeon recognized the famous billionaire instantly and scrambled to make the arrangements.
Chloe turned to Julian, her tear-streaked face a mix of profound gratitude and sheer confusion.
"Why are you doing this for me?" she whispered, her voice trembling.
"I can never, ever repay you."
Julian looked down at her, his dark eyes masking a storm of complex emotions.
