Chapter 10 - The True Family

Six months later, the Villaseñor gardens were completely transformed into a breathtaking floral paradise.

Thousands of white roses draped elegantly over the stone arches, and soft string music filled the warm afternoon air.

It was not the massive, media-circus wedding that Diego had once planned with Paulina.

Instead, it was an intimate, highly private ceremony attended only by close friends and the loyal mansion staff.

Marisol looked absolutely stunning in a simple, flowing white lace gown that suited her quiet grace perfectly.

She stood at the end of the aisle, holding a small bouquet of beautiful white lilies.

But the true star of the grand procession was little Valentina.

She walked proudly down the aisle wearing a tiny white dress and her favorite duck-pattern socks, dropping flower petals completely randomly.

The small crowd chuckled warmly as Valentina paused halfway down the aisle to pick up a shiny pebble, putting it in her pocket like a treasure.

Diego stood at the altar, looking incredibly handsome in a sharp black tuxedo.

He couldn't take his eyes off Marisol as she walked slowly toward him, her face glowing with pure happiness.

When she finally reached him, Diego took her hands gently in his, his thumbs rubbing softly over her knuckles.

The priest spoke beautiful words about love, endurance, and finding light in the darkest of places.

They exchanged their vows quietly, their words meant only for each other.

"I promise to love you, to protect you, and to never let anyone make you feel invisible again," Diego vowed, sliding the gold band onto her finger.

Marisol smiled through her happy tears as she placed the ring on his hand.

"I promise to build a beautiful life with you, and to always remind you of the good in this world," she replied softly.

The priest officially pronounced them husband and wife, and Diego kissed her deeply, sealing their broken past and bright future.

The small crowd erupted into joyful applause, with Hector the security guard clapping the loudest.

Suddenly, Valentina ran up the steps of the altar and hugged Diego’s leg tightly.

Diego laughed loudly, scooping his daughter up into his strong arms and pulling Marisol close against his side.

They walked back down the aisle together as a complete, unbroken family.

The painful years of hiding in small rooms and washing dishes were completely gone forever.

Marisol was no longer just the quiet maid in the background of someone else's life.
