Chapter 7 - The Security Footage

Elena dropped to her knees, sobbing that they didn't steal it. Maya was paralyzed with fear.

Leo watched the chaos unfold. He saw the bracelet. He saw Victoria's smug smile. And because he had spent his whole life watching people instead of listening to them, he knew exactly what had happened.

Leo broke away from his father's grip and sprinted to the estate's security hub in the basement. He had spent hours down here over the years, fascinated by the glowing monitors. He shoved the guard out of the chair, locked the heavy metal door, and began typing frantically.

Upstairs, Julian was dialing the police when every smart-TV in the massive mansion flickered to life.

Julian stopped. Victoria gasped.

On the eighty-inch screen in the living room, crystal clear footage played. It showed Victoria, checking over her shoulder, sneaking into the staff garage, and shoving the glittering bracelet into Maya’s backpack.
