Chapter 6 - The Setup
Panic gripped the estate. The press conference was delayed. Security scoured the grounds. It was Victoria who found Leo, sitting stubbornly in the very top of a massive oak tree near the property line, refusing to come down.
Furious that her perfect press day was ruined, Victoria decided to end the "Maya problem" permanently.
While everyone was distracted outside, Victoria slipped into the staff quarters. She took her own $50,000 diamond tennis bracelet and shoved it deep inside Maya’s worn backpack.
When Leo was finally brought down, Victoria made her move. "Julian, before we address your son's tantrum, we have a bigger issue. My bracelet is missing. I want the staff's rooms searched."

Julian, exhausted and stressed, agreed. Security found the bracelet in Maya's bag in less than ten minutes.
Victoria smiled triumphantly. "Call the police. And get this trash off our property."
