Chapter 9 - The Queen of the Estate

The transition from a quiet, invisible maid to the undisputed lady of the massive Rossi estate happened gradually, yet completely undeniably.

Beatrice no longer wore the restrictive black uniform; instead, she filled the grand hallways wearing elegant, comfortable dresses that perfectly complimented her soft curves.

The staff no longer looked at her with malicious jealousy, but with a deep, genuine respect, largely because Beatrice treated them with the kindness she had always craved herself.

She completely reorganized the staff schedules, demanding better pay and reasonable hours for the workers, earning their absolute, unwavering loyalty in a matter of weeks.

Leo watched this incredible transformation with absolute pride, deeply fascinated by the natural, graceful leader hiding beneath the insecure shell of the woman he loved.

One evening in late autumn, Leo invited Beatrice to join him for a private dinner on the glass-enclosed balcony overlooking the dark, peaceful lake.

The table was elegantly set with flickering candles and beautiful crystal glasses, the atmosphere heavy with an unspoken, deeply romantic tension.

Beatrice wore a deep emerald green dress that brought out the warmth in her eyes, feeling truly beautiful for the very first time in her entire life.

Leo poured her a glass of expensive red wine, completely mesmerized by the delicate, shy smile resting softly on her lips.

“You have completely transformed this house, Beatrice,” Leo said quietly, reaching across the white tablecloth to gently take her hand in his.

“It used to be just a cold fortress where I hid my daughter from my enemies, but you have somehow turned it into a real home,” he confessed honestly.

Beatrice looked down at their joined hands, marveling at how perfectly his large, scarred fingers fit against her own.

“Lily needed a safe place to heal, and honestly, so did I,” Beatrice replied softly, looking up to meet his intense, dark eyes.

“My whole life, I was told I was too big, too clumsy, and too much of a burden to ever be truly loved by anyone,” she admitted, completely exposing her deepest insecurities.

Leo’s jaw tightened in sudden anger at the thought of the cruel people who had completely shattered her precious confidence.

He stood up from his chair, walking around the small table to pull her gently to her feet, wrapping his strong arms securely around her soft waist.

“They were completely blind, ignorant fools, Beatrice,” Leo whispered fiercely, pulling her warm body tightly against his chest.

“You are not a burden; you are the absolute center of my entire universe, and you are the most magnificent woman I have ever known,” he swore passionately.

He leaned down, capturing her lips in a deep, desperate kiss that completely wiped away twenty-eight years of loneliness and crushing self-doubt.

Beatrice melted into his embrace, wrapping her arms securely around his strong neck, finally allowing herself to truly believe that she was entirely worthy of this beautiful love.
