Chapter 4 - The Boardroom Ambush

Three days later, Thomas received an urgent email summoning him to an emergency meeting of the board of directors.

He stood in front of his bedroom mirror, adjusting his tie while Jade watched him from the doorway.

"They are going to try and force you out, Thomas," she said quietly, holding a mug of steaming coffee.

"I know," he replied, turning to face her with a calm, resolute expression.

"But what my mother and brother do not realize is that I spent the last five years restructuring the holding company."

Jade smiled, a terrifyingly beautiful smirk that made Thomas fall in love with her all over again.

"Give them hell today, darling."

When Thomas pushed open the glass doors of the boardroom, he was met with the smug faces of Carol and Richard.

Richard was already sitting at the head of the table, a clear violation of protocol that spoke volumes about their intentions.

"You are late, Thomas," Richard said smoothly, leaning back in the executive leather chair.

"I am the CEO, Richard, which means the meeting begins when I arrive," Thomas replied, taking a seat directly across from his brother.

Carol stood up, holding a thick folder of documents and looking at the other board members with feigned sorrow.

"Gentlemen, it breaks my heart to bring this matter before you today," she began, her voice dripping with fake emotion.

"But my son, Thomas, has become erratic, abusive, and entirely controlled by his manipulative wife."

She tossed the folder onto the table, claiming it contained proof of his financial mismanagement and emotional instability.

"Under Section 4 of the family trust, we are calling for an immediate vote of no confidence to remove him as CEO."

The board members murmured among themselves, clearly uncomfortable with the sudden family drama spilling into their business.

Thomas simply sat there, casually tapping a silver pen against his legal pad.

"Are you finished, Mother?" he asked politely, cutting through the whispering.

"Because if you are, I have some highly relevant documents to distribute to the board as well."

Thomas pulled a single, crisp flash drive from his pocket and slid it across the mahogany table toward the projector technician.
