Chapter 11 - The Rescue

I stood heavily over his completely broken, bleeding body, keeping the heavy, rusted fire axe raised firmly in my trembling hands.

Julian was violently gasping for air, the extreme, blinding pain in his shattered shoulder completely paralyzing his entire body.

"You are going to spend the rest of your miserable, completely pathetic life rotting in a tiny, concrete cage," I whispered coldly.

Before he could offer a pathetic, incredibly weak response, the loud, heavy sound of massive engines roared outside the station.

The blinding, incredibly bright blue and red lights of multiple tactical police vehicles violently illuminated the snowy windows.

The heavily armed FBI tactical team violently breached the open doorway, their massive assault rifles aimed directly at Julian's head.

"FBI, completely freeze and get your hands directly on the floor!" the lead tactical agent commanded with absolute, terrifying authority.

Julian pathetically complied, sobbing loudly as the heavily armed agents aggressively secured thick, heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists.

A female medical agent rushed directly to my side, quickly wrapping a massive, incredibly warm thermal blanket around my freezing shoulders.

She gently guided my heavy, entirely exhausted body out of the freezing shack and directly into the back of a heated ambulance.

Elena was waiting for me inside the ambulance, her sharp face completely pale with extreme worry and massive relief.

She pulled me into a fierce, incredibly tight hug, whispering strongly that the absolute, terrifying nightmare was finally over.

The paramedics hooked me up to warm IV fluids, immediately checking the strong, healthy heartbeat of my beautiful unborn daughter.

I looked out the back windows of the ambulance, watching completely silently as Julian was aggressively shoved into a federal transport vehicle.

The charming, incredibly calculated predator was officially reduced to a pathetic, shivering criminal facing massive, federal murder charges.

The heavy winter storm was finally breaking, revealing a completely clear, incredibly bright starry sky over the massive mountains.
