Chapter 10 - The Breach

My massive wave of relief was violently, instantly shattered by the incredibly loud sound of heavy boots crunching in the snow outside.
Julian had incredibly managed to track my desperate, chaotic footprints straight to the isolated, incredibly vulnerable ranger station.
He began violently pounding his heavy fists against the thick wooden door, screaming my name with absolute, terrifying rage.
"Open this door right now, you pathetic, completely ungrateful bitch!" he roared wildly into the freezing night.
"You are going to die out here, and absolutely no one will ever find your frozen, pathetic corpse!"
I quickly backed away into the darkest corner of the small room, desperately searching the dusty shadows for absolutely any weapon.
I found a heavy, rusted fire axe resting quietly against the back wall, completely covered in years of thick, dark cobwebs.
I gripped the heavy wooden handle with both of my freezing, completely numb hands, heavily preparing for the absolute fight of my life.
Julian grew entirely impatient, aiming his heavy hunting rifle at the thick wooden door and firing a massive, deafening shot.
The heavy bullet violently shattered the metal deadbolt, completely blowing the heavy door wide open into the freezing cabin.
Julian stepped slowly into the dark room, his massive hunting rifle raised securely to his shoulder, a sick smile on his bleeding face.
"Game over, my sweet, completely foolish wife," he whispered heavily, scanning the pitch-black shadows for my hiding spot.
He slowly walked past the heavy wooden desk, completely unaware that I was standing directly behind the large, open door.
As he stepped fully into the small room, I swung the incredibly heavy, rusted fire axe with absolutely everything I had left.
The heavy, blunt side of the axe completely struck his dominant shoulder, violently shattering his collarbone with a loud, sickening crack.
Julian screamed in absolute, blinding agony, instantly dropping the heavy hunting rifle onto the dusty wooden floorboards.
I did not hesitate for a single, fleeting second; I heavily kicked the rifle entirely across the room into the dark corner.

Julian collapsed onto his knees, heavily clutching his shattered shoulder and glaring at me with absolute, unadulterated hatred.
The completely pathetic, entirely weak monster was finally on his knees exactly where he truly belonged.
