Chapter 7 - The Fiancée's Truth

Chloe, the beautiful blonde fiancée, stepped forward, her face flushed with fury.
She marched right up to Julian, who was still kneeling pathetically on the floor.
“You told me your ex-wife was a drug addict who abandoned you!” Chloe screamed, her voice breaking.
Julian reached out to grab her dress, but she slapped his hand away violently.
“Chloe, baby, please, I just wanted to protect you from her!” Julian lied desperately.
An older man pushed his way through the crowd, his face purple with rage.
It was Chloe’s father, a prominent real estate developer.
“You parasitic fraud!” the older man roared, pointing a cane at Julian.
“You used my daughter to secure the downtown zoning permits!”
Chloe pulled her wedding ring off her finger and threw it directly into Julian’s face.
“The wedding is off, Julian,” Chloe sneered, turning her back on him completely.
“You are absolutely disgusting.”
Julian buried his face in his hands, sobbing loudly in front of the entire elite class of the city.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Vanessa trying to sneak out through the side exit.
She was crawling along the wall, trying to remain unseen.
One of Sebastian’s security men stepped directly in front of the door, crossing his massive arms.
Vanessa let out a quiet squeak of terror and sank to the floor, trapped.

There was no escape for anyone who had helped Julian build his house of lies.
The trap had closed perfectly.
