Chapter 2 - The Arrival of Titans

A deafening roar suddenly echoed from the streets outside the glass lobby doors.

It sounded like thunder, but the storm outside was not made of weather.

Three massive, military-grade black SUVs slammed to a halt directly on the front curb, completely ignoring the valet lane.

The heavy doors flew open in perfect synchronization.

A dozen men in tailored black suits poured out, moving with terrifying, militant precision.

They immediately secured the perimeter of the lobby, forcing the St. Regis staff to step back.

Vanessa’s jaw dropped open as she watched the display of sheer, undeniable power.

Then, the rear door of the center SUV opened.

My brother Sebastian stepped out into the rain.

He was wearing a bespoke charcoal suit, his dark eyes scanning the lobby like a predator looking for its prey.

Right behind him was Harrison, adjusting his expensive tie with a look of utter disgust on his face.

The two most powerful billionaires on the West Coast walked straight through the sliding glass doors.

The hotel manager came running out of his office, pale and sweating.

“Mr. Sterling, we had no idea you were coming!” the manager stammered, bowing his head submissively.

Sebastian ignored him completely.

His piercing gaze locked onto me, and the deadly coldness in his eyes softened for a fraction of a second.

He walked straight toward us, his heavy footsteps echoing across the marble floor.

Vanessa was trembling now, her eyes darting between me and the legendary CEO of Sterling Holdings.

“Sir, this area is reserved for the anniversary banquet,” Vanessa squeaked, trying to sound professional but failing miserably.

Sebastian didn't even look at her.

He stopped in front of me and gently placed his large hand on Lily’s head.

“Are you alright, Clare?” he asked softly.

I nodded once.

May you like

Vanessa gasped out loud, taking a step backward as if she had just been slapped.

“Clare?” Vanessa whispered, the color completely draining from her face.
