Chapter 10 - The Sterling Queen

Later that evening, the Sterling family hosted a private charity gala at our ancestral estate.

The grand ballroom was decorated in gold and white, filled with the most influential people in the country.

There were no lies here, no hidden families, and absolutely no fake facades.

I stood at the top of the grand staircase, looking down at the beautiful empire my family had built.

Arthur was discussing policy with a senator, while Sebastian was laughing with his security chief.

Then, a small hand tugged on the hem of my elegant evening gown.

I looked down to see Lily, wearing a beautiful silver princess dress, holding a new piece of artwork.

“Momma, I made this for you,” Lily beamed, handing me a carefully painted canvas.

It was a picture of the two of us, standing in front of a giant castle.

“It is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, my sweet girl,” I said, picking her up and kissing her cheek.

Lily wrapped her arms around my neck, completely safe and fiercely protected.

She didn't miss Julian, because Julian had never truly been a father to her.

She had three uncles who treated her like absolute royalty, and a mother who had conquered the world for her.

I carried Lily down the stairs, the crowd parting respectfully as the new head of Sterling Investments walked through.

I had walked into a banquet three months ago as a broken, betrayed wife in a faded coat.

But tonight, I was standing in my own castle, wearing my own crown.

The storm was finally over.

And the Sterling Queen had officially arrived.
