Chapter 9 - The Fall of the Traitors
Arthur's loyal security guards rushed forward to grab Charlotte.
Before they could reach her, Liam Sterling’s private operatives stepped in, easily pinning Arthur's men to the ground.
The ballroom was in total chaos, but Charlotte remained perfectly calm.
She reached the stage and walked directly up the stairs.
Arthur backed away, trembling, looking for an escape route.
"You are dead," Arthur whispered frantically.
"I made sure you were dead."
Charlotte smiled coldly and turned to face the massive crowd and the rolling cameras.
"My uncle, Arthur Vale, hired mercenaries to tamper with my vehicle six months ago in Switzerland," Charlotte announced loudly.
The room erupted into shocked gasps.
"He did the same thing to my mother's private jet."
"He has been embezzling millions and selling our shares to the highest bidder."
"Lies!" Arthur shrieked, pointing a shaking finger at her.
"She has no proof!"
Elias Thorne stepped up to the tech booth at the side of the stage.
He plugged in the silver flash drive.
Suddenly, the massive projector screens behind Arthur lit up.
They displayed bank transfers, audio recordings, and the contract Arthur had signed with the Swiss mercenaries.
The evidence was undeniable, clear as day for the entire world to see.
Police sirens began wailing outside the hotel, growing louder by the second.
Arthur realized he was trapped.
He made a desperate dash for the backstage exit.
Before he could reach the curtain, Liam Sterling stepped into his path, delivering a swift, brutal punch to Arthur's jaw.
Arthur crumpled to the ground, unconscious before he hit the floor.
The FBI and local police stormed the ballroom, their badges flashing in the grand chandelier light.
They immediately handcuffed Arthur's unconscious body and began arresting the corrupt board members who had aided him.
