Chapter 10 - The New Era

One week later, the Solmere Hotel was transformed.

The dark cloud that had hung over the empire was permanently gone.

Charlotte Vale stood in the penthouse, looking out over the magnificent city skyline.

She was no longer the frightened girl running from shadows.

She was the undisputed President and CEO of a global empire.

Elias walked into the office, holding a fresh stack of legal documents.

"Arthur has confessed to everything in exchange for a lighter sentence, though he will still spend the rest of his life in federal prison," Elias reported with a satisfied smile.

"And Vanessa Sterling?" Charlotte asked, turning away from the window.

"She has been publicly disowned by her family and is currently facing three years for assault," Elias replied.

Charlotte nodded slowly, feeling complete closure.

Liam Sterling entered the penthouse next, bypassing the receptionist entirely.

He tossed a signed Vanguard shipping contract onto her mahogany desk.

"As promised, Madam President," Liam said, flashing a charming smile.

"Our companies are now officially partners."

"I look forward to doing business with you, Mr. Sterling," Charlotte said, shaking his hand firmly.

Liam held her hand for a second longer than necessary.

"Perhaps we could discuss the details over dinner tonight?" he asked.

Charlotte smiled, a genuine, relaxed smile she hadn't felt in over a year.

"Perhaps we can," she replied softly.

Elias discreetly left the room, leaving the two young billionaires alone.

Charlotte looked back out at the city, knowing her mother would be incredibly proud.

The Solmere Empire was safe, stronger than ever, and fully under her command.

She had walked into this hotel as a bruised, humiliated stranger.
