Chapter 7 - The Final Preparations

The morning sun rose over the city, casting a golden hue on the towering Solmere Hotel.

Inside a secure Vanguard safehouse, Charlotte was preparing for war.

Liam had provided her with a team of elite makeup artists, stylists, and bodyguards.

She was no longer the bruised, undercover woman in a dirty tank top.

She stepped out of the dressing room, taking everyone's breath away.

Charlotte wore a custom-tailored, blood-red designer suit that radiated pure power.

Her bruises had been masterfully concealed.

Her hair was styled in sharp, elegant waves.

She looked exactly like her legendary mother, but with a dangerous fire in her eyes.

Elias walked into the room, holding a thick leather binder.

"The flash drive has been authenticated," Elias confirmed.

"We have sent copies to the FBI, the SEC, and the local police chief."

"But they will wait for your signal to move in."

Liam leaned against the doorframe, admiring Charlotte's transformation.

"Arthur has stacked the ballroom with his own security," Liam warned her.

"Getting you to the microphone will not be easy."

"They won't expect a frontal assault," Charlotte said, checking her gold watch.

"Arthur is arrogant."

"He believes I am terrified and running for my life."

"He doesn't realize I am already breathing down his neck."

Charlotte looked at herself in the mirror one last time.

She thought of her mother's tragic death.

She thought of the cold marble floor from the night before.

She was ready to reclaim her empire.

"Let’s go," Charlotte said, turning on her heel.

"It is time to fire my uncle."

A fleet of black SUVs escorted them from the safehouse toward the Solmere Hotel.

The entire city was buzzing about the mysterious gala Arthur was hosting.

Rumors were flying that Arthur was going to officially declare Charlotte dead and crown himself the sole owner of the empire.

He was about to make the biggest mistake of his life.
