He aggressively moved the Caruso syndicate out of extortion, gambling, and violent trades. He funneled his massive wealth into legitimate real estate, luxury hotels, and shipping companies. He fired the hot-headed enforcers and promoted strategists like Enzo into corporate boardrooms.
When the other crime families asked why the ruthless Dante Caruso was putting on a corporate tie, the answer was universally whispered in fear: He’s building a kingdom for his daughter.
The estate was repaired, not as a fortress of isolation, but as a home. The heavy curtains were drawn back, allowing sunlight to stream across the marble floors. The imposing armed guards in the foyer learned how to play hide-and-seek, and Enzo became a permanent fixture at Sunday dinners, often helping Elena with her math homework.
