Chapter 10 - The Empire Rebuilt

One year later.
The Rossi estate had been completely restored, but the dark, oppressive atmosphere was gone. It was filled with light, the sound of piano music, and a toddler’s laughter.
Leo was running across the manicured lawn, chasing a golden retriever, while Clara sat on the terrace in a stunning white sundress.
The gates of the estate opened, and a fleet of black SUVs rolled in. The bosses of the remaining syndicates stepped out, but they didn't come for war. They came to pay tribute.
Dante stepped out onto the terrace. The scars of the past year only made him look more formidable. But when he looked at Clara, his dark eyes softened with an adoration that brought men to their knees.
He walked over, resting a heavy, warm hand on her slightly swelling stomach. Their second child was due in three months.
"The bosses are here," Dante murmured, kissing her cheek. "They want to negotiate the new port tariffs."
